Electric Utility Automation

Led a project to develop an innovative solution for automating processes in electric utility companies. The system leverages advanced technologies to enhance workforce safety, improve operational quality, and increase network reliability.

Smart Fitness Equipment

August 2023 – September 2024

Managed assignment quality and contract manufacturer selection and onboarding for a new family of novel smart fitness equipment. Ensured the project met ISO 9001 standards by writing project quality documents and conducting team training. Oversaw design for manufacturing (DfM), part fabrication, assembly, integration and test.

Humanoid Robot

March 2022 – March 2023

Led the design evolution of a humanoid industrial robot system for a client. The system was developed to operate tele-operated or autonomously in hazardous environments. Managed project budget, schedule, and provided technical oversight. System was matured to incorporate design for manufacturing/assembly features, address known performance deficiencies, and incorporate industrial design.

Robotic Surgery System

July 2021 – February 2022

Developed mechanical designs for a surgical robot alpha prototype. Designed and analyzed structural components with stringent weight and stiffness requirements. Refined and updated early-stage designs to improve performance, integration, and manufacturability.

Cervical Support

March 2021 – July 2021

Collaborated with client to develop solutions to improve the effectiveness of cerclages. The design leveraged independent research and the client’s clinical experience to develop a solution to improve the load carrying capability of the cerclage to improve cervical efficacy. Test results at the end of Phase 0 showed a more than 2x capacity improvement. (US Patent Pub. No.: US 2023/0310031 A1)

Lockheed Martin Corp.

Aeronautics - NASA: X-59 Low Boom Flight Demonstrator Aircraft

November 2014 – March 2021

Managed and executed subsystem hardware design, analysis, procurement, and test for experimental aircraft. Used technical and business tradeoffs to develop preliminary sizing and architecture for avionics, electrical, fuel, hydraulics, emergency power, cockpit, vehicle management, environmental control subsystems, and associated secondary structure. Provided technical oversight and guidance to 40 mechanical, aeronautical, and electrical engineers across several states to mature subsystem design ensuring contract goals are met. Managed $15M/year labor and material budget.

Space - Advanced Hypersonics et al.

October 2006 – October 2014

Performed system level design and analysis for satellite, rocket, and hypersonic vehicle research and development projects capturing new business for the company. Designs included thermal protection & management, primary & secondary structure, and hardware selection & packaging. Developed custom tools to automate data processing and report generation which reduced errors and decreased process time from weeks to days. Created detail part, assembly, and installation drawings per ASME Y14.5 and higher-level datasets per Y14.41. Performed troubleshooting during manufacturing and ground test to validate designs. Developed concepts and high-fidelity models and simulations for advanced propulsion and rocket concepts across launch vehicle and hypersonic platforms.

Integrated Systems & Solutions - GeoScout

January 2005 – October 2006

Supported troubleshooting and wave upgrades to ground-based computer networks ensuring continued mission performance. Used DOORs to capture and track program requirements through integration. Provided technical support for product software/hardware deployment activities at client facilities.

Quality Engineering and Software Technologies (QuEST)

Pratt & Whitney - F135 Engine

June 2003 – December 2004

Developed aircraft mechanical engine components designs. Utilized custom analysis tools to help achieve significant weight savings over a traditional Turbine Exhaust Case (TEC). Effectively managed component design and integration tasks for F135 Rear Bearing Compartment (RBC) IPT (Integrated Project Team). Orchestrated team and suppliers ensuring on-time delivery and availability of hardware. Successfully redesigned F135 thrust bearing hardware to measure thrust loads during ground test.
